January 10th marked the most important date for two college football programs, for it was time for the annual college football playoff national championship. This year’s contenders where two familiar foes: the Alabama Crimson Tide and The Georgia Bulldogs. Alabama came into the game looking to claim the the trophy and the title of National Championship for the 15th time, the 7th under head coach Nick Saban, which is nothing short of impressive. The Bulldogs of Georgia came in looking to win the the trophy for the first time since 1980.
This year both teams have separated themselves from the competition and declared themselves the best two teams ready to compete for the prestigious national championship trophy. This game was a rematch from earlier in the season when the Tide took down Georgia in the SEC championship 41-24.
The two teams battled under the lights in Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the Dawgs winning the title 33-18.
