The Springville Tigers softball team head to gulf shores to compete in the Gulf Shores Classic. The tigers did a great job throughout the tournament beating Thompson, Kaneland, Hartselle, and Spain Park which advanced them to the championship game. The tigers faced the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies to compete for the championship trophy. Unfortunately, the tigers came in second after Trussville pulled off a big win against the tigers with a score of 12-0. Overall, the tigers had an amazing performance throughout the tournament just coming up short against the Huskies but placed second out of forty-six teams. A sophomore on the varsity team, Ashlyn Cooley, said “We played five games on the day of the championship, so we were tired and lost to a great team. It was disappointing, but I’m proud of our team.” Be sure to come out and support the lady tigers as they play in the Sardis Varsity Tournament in Guntersville on April 8, 2023.
