Taxes are an essential part of our daily lives. Taxes are a government-imposed free levied on individuals, businessmen, or services. The federal tax deadline for 2023 was on April 18th and the extension is estimated to be due in October. The date was changed, originally it was April 15th. The reason being is because Tax Day cannot be on a weekend or holiday. On the Monday before the deadline, Wahington DC was celebrating Emancipation Day, this is the anniversary of the district ending slavery in 1862 shortly after taxes were due. Taxes are a necessary aspect of modern society to ensure a functional and sustainable society.
