Hoover Band Competition

Last Saturday, The SHS band traveled to Hoover to compete in their second competition of the 2021 marching season. They competed against other 3A bands including Muscle Shoals, Madison Central, Long Beach, and Pinson Valley High School. At 5:30 p.m., the Tigers marched onto the field to perform what was known as The Greatest Show, From the movie The Greatest Showman. The show included four songs from the film: “The Greatest Show,” “A Million Dreams,” “Come Alive,” and “From Now On.” After the performance, the Tigers sat down to watch and enjoy the performances of other bands. At 8:45 p.m., the judges started to announce awards. The Springville band was incredibly happy to receive a superior rating from the judges. They also received an award for Best in Class Drum Major and Best in Class Soloist, which went to trumpet section leader Aiden McLendon. The band then placed 3rd for Best in Class for 3A. This Saturday, the band will travel to Pelham to compete in their 3rd and final competition of the marching season. They will perform at 6:30 p.m., so go to support The Mighty Band from Tiger Land!
