This year I was wondering what are other people’s opinions on the pecan pie vs pumpkin pie issue. This is what I found out when I asked 12 students and 5 faculty about their favorite of the two:  I got a 5 to 1 ratio for students in which pumpkin pie won. The ratio for faculty was 3 to 2 with pumpkin also in the lead. Here are some of the reasons they gave:

“Pumpkin is superior to pecan because I’m not a fan of pecans.”

“Pecan is awesome.”

“My mom makes the best pumpkin pie in the world.”

“Pecan is so good, it makes my mouth water.”

My favorite of the two is pumpkin because I love the taste of pumpkin, from pumpkin spice latte to pumpkin bread.
