The Effects of Caffeine



We all enjoy a cup of coffee or a nice soda but there is one key ingredient in both of these things. Caffeine is an ingredient that can have many effects on our moods and on our bodies. Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant. This causes three main effects throughout the body: it increases energy metabolism throughout the day; it also causes the release of dopamine by stimulating non-adrenaline neurons; it also has a negative affect on those sensitive to methylxanthine, the chemical released when drinking caffeine. Overall, caffeine can be very beneficial to most if it is used properly and not abused.
