The fifth month of the year, also known as May, is full of cool facts and holidays that many people do not know of. May consists of Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day. May marks the beginning of summer, brings warmer weather, blooming flowers, and is definitely a month worth celebrating. It gets its name from the Roman Goddess Maia who oversaw the growth of plants and was  considered a nurturer and an earth goddess. The birthstone of May is an emerald, which is a symbol of rebirth and is believed to grant the owner foresight, good fortune, and youth. According to the zodiac, if you have a May birthday, you are said to be understanding, resolute, and enthusiastic. Whatever you decide to do this May, be sure to make the most of it!
