On October 25, the culinary program at the St. Clair Trade School, took a trip to the Auburn University campus to learn about the beef production process. The bus for the trip left at 7:30 in the morning, and the bus ride took around two hours before arriving at the university campus. When they first arrived, they entered the Wilson Beef Teaching Center. Here, the students watched a slide show presentation on how the campus takes care of the calves before they are taken to the meet lab to be processed. The students were able to visit these calves and cows before seeing the meet lab. One student, Nina Vales, said, “It was a jaw dropping experience.” Students returned to school safely in the evening and overall enjoyed the experience.
