Springville High School had some technical issues with an AC unit which lead to a minor fire. Springville students exited calmly and quickly. The fire department did an amazing job getting to Springville High and addressing the issue. Although it was a surprising event for some, the administration praised the students and teachers for reacting quickly and calmly. After students were evacuated outside, the fire department allowed students to return to the gym. Then students were able to return to class after a long unplanned break. Initially the staff wasn’t sure it was a fire, “I thought it was burnt macaroni,” said Dr. Moore. Administrators at Springville High School are happy that all students were safe and there was minimal damage.
