Katie Britt is a Republican Politician from Alabama who successfully won her first ever seat in senate for Alabama in the 2022 Election on November 8th. She was sworn into office on January 3rd, 2023. She is the first female senator from Alabama and the youngest Republican woman elected U.S. Senator. As well as being the second-youngest female senator overall, she was sworn into office by the first female Vice President of the United States. She graduated high school in 2000 and enrolled at the University of Alabama majoring political science, graduating in 2004. She then joined the staff of U.S. Senator Richard Shelby as press secretary before being promoted to his chief of staff and head of his Judicial Nomination Task Force in 2016. Her popularity grew as she held a “Keep Alabama Open” effort in 2020 and elected to the Alabama Wildlife Federation’s board of directors in 2021. Nonetheless, she was proud of her accomplishments and supporters during and after the election, she posted, “Thank you all for your incredible support, encouragement and confidence!”. Katie Britt walked into the halls of the capital on the morning of Jan 3rd, determined to make the state and country a better environment for its citizens.
