Groundhog Day is a tradition observed in the United States and Canada on February 2nd every year. This event is held about 61 miles Northeast of Pittsburg. It is believed that if the groundhog emerges from its hole and sees a shadow due to clear weather it will retreat and hibernate for six more weeks. Although if it does not see its shadow because of cloudiness Spring will arrive early. This year on February 2nd Punxsutawney Phil (the groundhog) saw its shadow so we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Spring begins on March 20, 2023. It is only a 39 percent chance the groundhog was correct many people are counting on him being wrong this year.
