The Springville boys varsity soccer team have started off their season very well with  record of 5-1-0.  They were victorious over Clay 8-0, Susan Moore 4-2, Pell City 3-0, Oxford 6-0, and Southside 4-2 in penalty kicks.  Their only loss came to #2 ranked Mountain Brook with a score of 7-1.  With that being said, Springville has scored in every match and only conceded 9 goals.  Springville has yet to lose an area game, and they are yet to concede a goal during regulation in area as well.  Despite two starters being injured, Springville has adjusted and are yet to be affected.  A playoff run this year is definite, and a chance at state is very likely.  Their next match is Thursday, March 10 against Vestavia Hills at home.  This will be Springville’s toughest match since Mountain Brook and possibly the entire year.  Matches such as these against tough oppositions will prepare Springville for playoff teams and will be a good use of measuring the team’s overall ability.
