The World Cup is being held in Qatar Asia and has been played since November 25. There are teams participating from all around the world some of them are from countries such as Netherlands, Senegal, England, USA, and France.  This is an exciting and important event to the soccer community including the players and fans. Even people who normally don’t participate in watching soccer have been keeping up with the games.  Most people are excited because it happens every 4 years. The USA team has a chance to play in the quarter-finals for the first time since 2002 depending on the outcome of their next match. Even soccer players at Springville High School are keeping up with the world-wide event. Jerome Byrd, a varsity soccer player said, “I am so excited for it!” USA is set to play the Netherlands on December 3rd at 9:00am.
