The Springville high school football team took the field last Friday night, looking to get another region win against the Southside wildcats. Springville started the game strong marching down the field but missed a field goal.  Both defenses would control the game until southside opened up the second quarter with an 18 yard touchdown pass. The Tigers would have another prime opportunity to score after a high punt snap put the tigers in the red zone but they would turn the ball over in the end zone. And the defensive battle would continue into halftime with the wildcats up 7-0. Southside would add another touchdown making 13-0 in the third quarter. The Tigers finally found the end zone late in the game and got the ball with a chance to tie or win the game after a missed field goal by Southside, but the comeback attempt came up short as the pass was intercepted in the end zone on the final play of the game, and the final score would be 13-6. The Tigers fell to a record of 3-3 and will look to get back in the win column this Friday against Pell City.
